General Dynamics Land Systems UK is continuing the production of Ajax armoured fighting vehicles despite ongoing investigations into reported defects. These defects, which include excessive noise and vibration, were identified during a training exercise in November 2025, affecting 30 soldiers, 25 of whom have since returned to duty. The company, which has been the primary contractor since 2010, is maintaining its production schedule while awaiting the results of three separate investigations. These investigations are being conducted by the Defence Accident Investigation Branch, the Army safety investigation, and a ministerial review assessing the Ministry of Defence's implementation of previous review actions. So far, 185 out of 589 ordered vehicles have been delivered, with each vehicle taking approximately 16 weeks to build.
